Bullmastiffs are not Grandma's fluffy, foo-foo dog, nor are they Aunt Jackie's yapping, ankle-biter. A Bullmastiff is a big, loyal, protective breed of dog. Bullmastiffs were bred in England by crossing the English Bulldog and the English Mastiff, and thoroughbreds are 60% bulldog and 40% mastiff. Recognized first as a breed back in 1924, the Bullmastiff has been protecting its owners ever since.
